About Us
THE RJR STORY
Since 1962, RJR spares has been a proud and trusted supplier of Jaguar, Landrover, Rover and MG parts.
It all began more than 60 years ago as a part-time effort between Des Waters and Jim Martin, who were both mechanics in Warkworth, a small rural township north of Auckland. They worked from Jim’s garage on Matakana Road, salvaging parts from used vehicles and selling them on.
The business was originally called Rodney Wreckers and moved to its current site on Clayden Road in 1963, where the men turned their part-time passion into a full-time venture.
Initially, parts were taken from all cars, but Des had a passion for Jaguars and Jim for Rovers, so they decided to specialise in what they saw as a gap in the market.
As one generation retired and another took over - Ken Marsh joined the business and bought out Jim whilst some years later Des’ son Rob got involved and bought his father’s share and the name changed to Rodney Jaguar Rover Spares. Eventually the name evolved even further and was shortened to just RJR Spares as it's known now.
Move forward to the present day and RJR is still a proudly family owned business continuing to provide parts and expertise to not only the New Zealand market, but to satisfied customers all over the world. When you purchase from us, you can trust the service we offer today is as good as it was when Des and Jim first opened the doors over 60 years ago.
OUR MISSION
To not only offer the best quality new and second hand parts for your vehicle but to also back that up with extensive knowledge and great customer service.
OUR VALUES
Do it once and do it right. And if for some reason we don't... we will put it right.
OUR SOLUTION
We listen to our customers to understand their issues and ensure when you are buying parts from us - they are the right ones for the job. We would rather forfeit a sale then sell you something you don't need or is not the right fit
